Recover and rescue formatted or damaged hard drives
Datatoo Recovery can scan partitions and drives even if they were formatted or damaged (excluding physical damage, which requires taking the drive to a lab). We can’t guarantee all files (or any of the files) will be restored but in many cases, some of the files can be fully restored and if that’s possible, Datattoo can do it.

Step 1

Selection of a drive or partition to scan
The first step of scanning a media for deleted or corrupted files is to select the drive or partition associated with the problematic media.
For example, if you have lost files from a SD card, you need to insert it and then select it from the Drives / Partitions screen, which is the first screen.
After the Drive / Partition is selected, press "Scan" to initiate the process.
Step 2

Scanning a drive / partition
During the process of scanning a drive / partition, you will see the progress bellow. During that time you can cancel the scan (for example, if you found the missing file or see that you are scanning the wrong media), or to pause it (for example: if you are using a laptop and the battery is almost gone, so you wish to pause and resume later).
When the scan process ends, you will see all deleted / corrupted files found and will have the opportunity to select all or part of these files in order to restore them.

Restoration of the deleted / corrupted files
After you have selected the files you wish to restore, you should determine where you wish them to be restored to. That can be the original location or a new location such as you Desktop folder or a new hard drive.
